A day with the fam.

I hung out with family all day Saturday. I haven't seen them in awhile so I drove down there and offered to take them out to lunch. I asked that they please pick a place where I haven't eaten at, specifically so I can yelp/blog about it :)
Sanam Luang Cafe is the place they picked for lunch. It's a Thai restaurant and may I say that it's one of the best. Their Thai food is amazing and super cheap! My family recently discovered this place and have been eating here constantly ever since.

Fried Won-Tons

Combination Fried Rice

Garlic Fried Ribs

Spicy Fried Rice w/ some kind of fish, I forgot lol.

Ground Chicken

Watermelon Slush w/ Boba

I haven't had Thai food in awhile so this place really hit the spot. I'm definitely coming back here when I drive down to see family again.

Well the day couldn't end there. The fam wanted dessert so why not huh? I'm not big on desserts but I'll have it every once in awhile.

Oh yes, Yogurtland.

 Pure bliss.

What a day. Take care folks.

Ice, Ice Creamy

Hans' Ice Cream & Deli. Everything here is homemade. When you come to this place, it makes you feel like a kid again. They have a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from. Not 31 flavors, but whatever. It's a good amount to choose from. They also have ice cream sandwiches, frozen bananas, sundae cones, etc. It was me and my girlfriend's first time here and we were so indecisive on what to try first. We both ended up getting ice cream sandwiches. Let me tell you, it was Foody Food alright.

Look at all that good stuff just teasing you. *Drool*

Misty's Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwich.

My Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich.

Oh man. They were delicious. Definitely coming back here to try the other wonderful amazing treats. Not sure if we're going to try out their deli food. Maybe if we've tried every dessert that they serve there. Til next time, oh and if you haven't left to go and try this place out yet, what are you waiting for? Oh and I forgot to mention, Cash Only.

Eat Chow at Eat Chow

Ok i really have to stop making up dumb blog post titles. It makes sense though! Eat Chow is the name of the restaurant. You can eat chow at Eat Chow! Alright alright. So, lets start off with saying this place is connected to a clothing store. You can shop and then eat! Well it's kind of disturbing because as me and my girlfriend were eating, I can see customers at the clothing store looking at us. I hate when people watch me eat O_O

Well the food was pretty good though. I see now why it got good reviews on Yelp.

"Truffle Parmesan Fries" (these were delicious).

"Fried Green Tomatoes" w/ chili herb aioli.

My order. The "BLTA" (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado. In case you haven't figured it out yet).

Misty's Order. "Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich"

Their sandwiches are served with either a mixed greens salad or a classic caesar. We both got mixed greens because we're sick of caesar. Or you can say Caesar is no longer our friend. Or you can say Caesar should just stay at his palace. Ok lame, anyway I'd like to say that you should try this place out. Just ignore the shoppers next door.

Gen Again

Yes. Gen again. I only said that because it rhymed. Actually no, because I've had Gen before making my statement a fact. Ok whatever, anyway it's my first time blogging about Gen so here it is.

Gen is right a few stores down from my work. Me and my co-worker buddy Tony ate here Thursday on my lunch break. It's decent quality Japanese food for being a fast-food type restaurant. Plus it's close to work. Oh and sorry about the quality on the pictures. I didn't have my camera that day. Took these with my cell.

1/2 of Tony's order. "Double Shrimp Roll"

The other half. "Shrimp Tempura". Guess Tony loves his shrimp.

1/2 of my order. "Gen Bowl" (thin slices of shredded beef w/ rice).

The other half. "Gyoza". They fry the Gyoza here. I prefer them this way. Thanks again Gen! (dumb)

We washed the food down with "Sapporo".

I'm sure I'm going to eat here again, at Gen, again. Ok I'm done.

Hooters!

Yes Hooters! I don't come here often. I've only been to Hooters three times. Well a friend of mine had a gift certificate for 200 wings! She won it from a "Wingo". It's basically Bingo but with a "W". So if you win a round of "Wingo" you get to spin their prize wheel. So she won, got to spin the wheel and won the 200 free wings certificate.

Me and a bunch of other friends were invited to help her take down 200 wings. It was no easy task.

The drink menu.

Medium Wings

Here's when we were in the heat of battle. By heat I mean it was a race to see who could eat their hottest wings named "911" the fastest. I won, got to spin the prize wheel and got a hat. (-_-)

Parmesan Garlic Wings

Samurai Wings (my personal favorite)

Serious food coma after all of this was done. I don't even remember if we killed 200 wings. I think we got up to 170. I'm think I'm done with wings for awhile. Til the next time Foody Fooders. I'm probably going to fly away now with all the wings I've consumed.

Death to Dip

So I come home one day and my girlfriend tells me that she bought these new chips to try. I'm always excited to try new things and especially chips because I love chips! They're Boulder Canyon brand chips. The company that makes my favorite salt & vinegar chips! Well I haven't seen chips in this flavor before.

Boulder Canyon Natural Foods Spinach & Artichoke Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
*takes a breath*

Ok...let me just say that these chips were way too salty! Chips are usually salty yes, but the amount of sodium used in these chips felt like I was eating a rock of salt. Also, what's up with the dip flavored chips? Why are chip brands coming out with all these dip flavored chips??? I know there's Sour Cream & Onion, Salsa Chips, Guacachips and now this? Come on guys, don't take away the joy out of dipping. Look at Fritos Scoops and Tostitos Scoops. You know the Frito Lay guys appreciate the fun of dipping. Would I say this is "Foody Food"? Maybe, if you aren't a snail and love tons of salt! Ok I'm done ranting. I'll let you guys know if I manage to discover more dip flavored chips which I'm hoping I will not. Take care everyone! SCOOPS!

Just joined Yelp

I feel like I should have joined Yelp a long time ago.

Well...better late than never.

Oh and Foody Food got a new layout makeover. I like this one better.

Dumpling & Noodle House

So usually when I'm working and my girlfriend has the day off, she'll come visit me on my lunch break. I work in Irvine so I can only go so far to eat with the one hour that they give me.

Misty and I ended up going to the "Dumpling & Noodle House" at the Tustin Marketplace for my lunch break. It was our first time eating here and the funny thing is, neither of us got Dumplings or Noodles haha.

Misty's Sweet & Sour Chicken combination plate.

My Beef Bulgolgi combination plate.

The food was good. $8.49 for each of our combination plates isn't bad. Oh and free fountain drinks if you eat there!

Wingin it

Hey ladies and gents. I'm a little late with this posting, but hey better late than never right?

Me and my girlfriend had the day off Friday. She told me that we were going to eat out and that it was her treat this time. Yayyy! More food blogging opportunities, haha! Anyway, since she was treating I figured I'll let her decide on where we were going to eat.

The choice seemed so simple for her because she's usually undecisive when it comes to figuring out a place to eat out at. Wingnuts was on her mind this time so that's where we were headed. Crazy, cause I've been craving wings lately :)

 6-Pack...of hot sauce.

"Best Wings in Orange County" for three years straight? I'll take that challenge.

My order. The "Fire in the Hole!" Trio (Honey Mango Habanero, Buffalo Ouch!, Kung Pao Wow) w/ a side of mashed potatoes.
.

Misty's order. The "Great American BBQ" Trio (Charred Whiskey BBQ, Cherry BBQ, Roadhouse BBQ) w/ a side of BBQ Macoroni Salad.

I really enjoyed my order. I'm big on hot/spicy foods so whenever it's available, I usually don't think twice.
Out of the three different kinds of flavors that I tried, I'd have to say that the Honey Mango Habanero is my favorite wing flavor there. It's a perfect balance between sweet and spicy. Try it!

Misty was pretty satisfied with her food. Yeah she fell victim to food coma, haha. This could have been a perfect lunch experience but, our waitress seemed a little bit on the moody side. It's ok, just a minor inconvenience.

Well next time I'm having wings it's going to be at Wing Stop because my friend Mikey said it was far superior to Wingnuts. I want to see if Wingnuts can live up to their awards of "Best Wings in Orange County".
Oh one more thing. Whenever I eat somewhere and post about it, I'll leave the restaurant info at the very end of the posting only if they don't have a website.

Til next time hungry hippos!

Typical Thursday

Hello everyone! It's pretty late but I had to make a post before I go to bed. Me, my girlfriend Misty and my buddy Mark went to "Albatros" in Lake Forest Thursday night. We've been eating at this place every Thursday for the past few weeks after our usual Thursday bowling night. It's right next to the bowling alley so it's pretty convenient and they're open 24 hours! Everyone usually gets the "California Burrito" here, but I suggested we all order differently so we can show you a bit of variety.

Albatros. That's a mean looking bird by the way.

My girlfriend Misty ordered the chicken "Torta" with french fries on the side.

Mark's Order. The "California Burrito".

You see that carne asada, cheese, sour cream and french fries? Good Stuff!

A part of my order. An "Al Pastor" taco. They seriously pack these tortillas full.

A "Carne Asada" taco. I ordered two of these. Seriously though, should have ordered just one of these and an extra tortilla on the side cause look at this. There's so much extra meat for a second taco! Look at that, you can barely see the tortilla!

The extra meat from my three tacos, hahahahaha.

I'm pretty full because I had no idea those tacos were so packed full of meat. If I ever get those tacos again, I'll be sure to order only two next time.

Well I'm going to bed cause I'm sleepy and in a food coma from.

Me and my girlfriend are eating somewhere new tomorrow(or today technically since it's 2 am) so check back real soon!
